The Sustainability Pillars within EUN
-
Divided into 2 categories:
The reclamation of pre-loved materials/textiles
The reclamation of personal and cultural identity.
-
Extending the life of clothing through design techniques and sentimentalism.
-
Creating design lines and details that allow modularity and adjustability
Reclamation within EUN is divided into 2 categories
Mitigating or limiting the use of new materials where possible.
All of my design work involves revamping pre-loved textiles/materials and placing a new purpose into discarded materials. This allows my brand and in extension my consumers, to positively contribute to the decrease in resource consumption and waste generation. I enjoy the challenge of designing new things from second-hand materials because it forces me to use the limited amount of fabric those items/textiles have and also celebrate the details that were initially created with that textile.
Reclaiming personal and cultural identity
This journey of self-discovery and empowerment intertwines my personal and cultural identity. Reclamation within EUN involves embracing heritage, language, and art while challenging marginalized societal expectations.
This honours the past and shapes a future that respects one's true self a notion that I strongly believe in therefore aim to reflect in all my designs

Longevity
In Eun's garments, the emphasis on high-quality construction details directly contributes to their longevity and heirloom status. Here's how the focus on meticulous craftsmanship enhances the durability and lasting appeal of these garments:
Mitigating the use of an Overlocker:
Overlockers are efficient but can sometimes lead to less refined finishes and are more prone to unravelling hence making the garment less durable. Traditional finishes are typically more resilient over time and extensive wear.
Lining:
Lining is a functional and comfortable extra layer of fabric sewn into the interior of a garment. This adds structural integrity helping maintain a garment's shape, reduces stress on the outer seams of fabric and also protects the outer fabric from sweat, wear, and tear.
Binding & French seams:
Both binding and french seams add a durable an aesthetic finish to garments by reinforcing the raw edges to prevent fraying whilst providing a polished look.
By incorporating these high-quality construction details, Eun’s garments are designed to endure through years of use and wear, making them valuable heirloom pieces that can be cherished and passed down through generations. The focus on craftsmanship ensures that each piece remains both functional and beautiful over time.
Genderless
Eun strongly believes that clothes belong to everyone and should not be placed within the binary categories that society embeds; instead Eun garments aims to empower their wears by focusing how it makes the them feel instead. Here's how these design principles contribute to the EUN’s vision:
Modularity & Adjustability:
Modular designs often include interchangeable elements, such as detachable sleeves, collars, or overlays. Flexibility is crucial for genderless designs as it allows wearers to customise their look according to their personal preferences or needs without being constrained by traditional gender norms.
Flexibility is crucial for genderless designs, as it allows for a comfortable and flattering fit for all individuals by offering solutions for those who may not fit into traditional sizing categories. This makes it easier for wearers to adapt their outfits to different body types or personal preferences. Incorporating adjustable features such as adjustable waistbands and straps ensures that garments can accommodate various body shapes and sizes or allow for garment layering.
Empowerment through Choice:
EUN’s garments promoting a sense of ease and satisfaction by allowing individuals to curate their wardrobe according to their identity, enhancing self-expression and personal choice. This approach encourages a more fluid interpretation of fashion, aligning with the modern values of individuality and gender inclusivity hence reinforces EUN’s commitment of breaking away from gendered fashion constraints.
In essence, Eun’s commitment to a genderless appeal embodies a radical shift towards inclusivity and self-expression in fashion. By dismantling traditional gender norms and focusing on how each garment makes the wearer feel, Eun champions a wardrobe that adapts to individual identities rather than constraining them. This forward-thinking approach not only empowers wearers to embrace their unique styles and body types but also promotes a more thoughtful and sustainable fashion model. Eun’s garments are more than just clothing—they are a statement of freedom, a celebration of personal choice, and a testament to a future where fashion is truly for everyone.
